Pre Trek Activities
It is important for everyone to prepare for this experience. Please START NOW to help your youth prepare physically and spiritually:
Spiritual Preparation: It is our intention that this is one of the spiritual highlights of your life. You can enhance that by spiritual preparation.
- Daily Prayer
- Regular Scripture Study
- Reading about or watching a movie about the pioneers
- Researching your own ancestors and learning their conversion stories
- If you have an ancestor who was in the Willey or Martin companies please let Carrie know ASAP
- We will be assigning pioneer names and stories to youth at trek
Physical preparation: we are only doing two 6-mile loops. One loop at Martin’s Cove and one loop at Sixth Crossing, but if you don’t prepare you may regret it.
- Good walking shoes – don’t wear something new and appropriate socks.
- Follow the packing list and make sure you have clothing that will not cause chafing.
- Exercise by going on walks and hikes before trek to condition your body.
